RULES OF THE GAME

U6 & U7 Boys & Girls

• Number of players: 5v5(including goalie)

• Size 3 Ball

• Goalies can use their hands in the goal box

• Other team must retreat behind half line when ball is in the goalkeeper’s hand or on goal kick. Other team can come in once the ball is thrown or kicked.  The goalie can choose to start play at any time even if the opposing team hasn’t made it behind the half.  Once the goalie has played the ball, the opposing team is free to play from wherever they are at. 

• 10 minute quarters

• No Off-side rule

• Subs are allowed at any stoppage in play.

• No heading the Ball

• No Slide Tackles

• Drop Kicks OK

• Corner Kicks and Goal kicks will be used. 

A goal kick is awarded when the ball was last touched by the attacking team and fully crosses the end line. When this happens, the ball is kicked from any point within the goal area by a player of the defending team. All players from the attacking team must be at the half line or beyond until the ball has been kicked. (this is to eliminate easy goals and “Cherry picking”) Attacking players can not cross the half line until the ball has left the goal area. If the ball does not leave the goal area when kicked, the defending team will be allowed to re-kick the ball.

A Corner kick is awarded when the defensive team last touches the ball and it completely crosses over the end line on their defensive end of the field.  The attacking team places the ball in the corner of the field, closest to where the ball went out of bounds and restarts the play. The ball must be within 3ft of the corner when restarted.

• Coaches time and ref the game. Keep the games flowing with minimal stops

• Only 1 Coach from each team on the field at a time

• The home team sits on the North or West side of the field(depending on which way the field runs)- Away team sits on the South or East side
